The Rabbi Sacks Legacy is honored to invite a select group of friends and supporters to join us in Israel for a mission in memory of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt”l.
This special program will offer rare access to the scholars, institutions, and emerging leaders carrying Rabbi Sacks’ teachings forward in Israel and beyond.
The mission will culminate at Bar-Ilan University with the presentation of the Jonathan Sacks Institute Prize, awarded this year to Dr. Deborah Lipstadt, former United States Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism.
2:00 pm — Private tour of the National Library of Israel and a meeting with Rachel Misrati, Chief Curator of the Rabbi Sacks Archive.
Evening — Voices of Hope: Dinner and conversation with Esther Marcus and Laly Derai, whose lives were profoundly changed by October 7 and the war that followed, exploring how their experiences have shaped the work they do today.
Daytime — Visit to an Israeli high school to experience Lehiyot Yehudi, a Jewish identity program inspired by the teachings of Rabbi Sacks.
Evening — Shabbat dinner at the home of Ambassador Daniel Taub and Zahava Taub.
12:00 pm — A conversation with Scholars-in-Residence Dr. Deborah Lipstadt and Prof. Jonathan Rynhold.
Evening — Melave Malka featuring the Besht Tellers.
Visits to Rabbi Sacks Legacy programmes across Israel, including pre-military academies (mechinot), and a visit to an IDF base.
Evening — Legacy and Leadership Dinner.
Daytime — Noé Scholars Yom Limmud at Bar-Ilan University.
6:00 pm — Reception with Prof. Arie Zaban, President of Bar-Ilan University.
8:00 pm — Presentation of the Jonathan Sacks Institute Prize to Dr. Deborah Lipstadt, followed by the sixth annual Sacks Conversation.

Laly Derai is a writer, lecturer and civic activist whose son, Staff Sgt. (res.) Saadia Yaakov Derai, was killed while serving in Gaza, and who now campaigns for greater shared responsibility in Israeli national service.
Dr. Deborah Lipstadt is a leading historian of the Holocaust and antisemitism, an award-winning author and former United States Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism.
Esther Marcus, a survivor of the October 7 massacre, is a trauma therapist who helped establish resilience centers for other survivors.
Rachel Misrati is an archivist at the National Library of Israel who is responsible for cataloguing and preserving the personal archive of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.
Prof. Jonathan Rynhold is Academic Director of the Jonathan Sacks Institute at Bar-Ilan University and a professor of political studies specialising in Israeli politics, foreign policy and US–Israel relations.
Ambassador Daniel Taub is an Israeli diplomat, international lawyer and author who served as Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and is Chair of the Rabbi Sacks Legacy’s Israel Board.
Prof. Arie Zaban is President of Bar-Ilan University and a distinguished scientist whose research has focused on renewable energy, electrochemistry and nanotechnology.
$6,250 (USD) per person which includes a non-refundable $500 deposit
